ABM Launch Task-Based Database Analyst and Administration Services To Fill IT Resource Gap
Nottingham, 23 March 2011 - ABM, the leading developer of covert operations management software in the UK, has launched a range of database administration (DBA) services to plug the gap left by redundancies and cuts in IT departments within police forces.
IT budgets and personnel have been cut in many police forces, whilst others are anticipating further cuts later this year. There is a real risk that business critical databases and applications may be sidelined as a result of the increasingly stretched resources. ABM's new services are geared towards providing a flexible and affordable way of police forces maintaining their databases and applications so that costly downtime and poor technology performance can be avoided.
Sue Grewcock, Professional Services Director at ABM, explains, "Police forces are facing unprecedented pressure on back office services, particularly among technical IT personnel. Speaking with police forces across the United Kingdom made us realise that there is a need for database services to keep their systems running smoothly."
"IT personnel are being stretched further and further – our DBA team is available to relieve some of that pressure on an ad-hoc or more regular basis. Few IT service companies have the relevant experience and security clearance needed to work on sensitive police databases, but ABM’s team all have relevant clearance and can be relied upon to deal with confidential data."
The new Task-Based DBA Services are available to any UK police force. More details can be found at http://www.abmsoftware.com/Services_Task-Based-DBA-Services.html
